Itinerary
Day 1
Amman – Jerash – Ajloun
- Kick off your adventure with an early morning departure from Amman, heading towards the ancient city of Jerash. Known as one of the best-preserved Roman provincial towns in the world, Jerash boasts magnificent ruins including Hadrian's Arch, the Hippodrome, and the grand Oval Plaza. Wander through its colonnaded streets and marvel at the grandeur of the Temple of Artemis, immersing yourself in the rich history of this remarkable city.
- Visit Beit Khayrat Souf, a women-owned gem, highlights authentic Jordanian cuisine and local treasures. Savor a traditional Jordanian lunch and embrace authentic hospitality in a beautiful setting.
- Continue your journey to Ajloun, where you will visit the impressive Ajloun Castle. This 12th-century fortress, built by the forces of Salah ad-Din, offers breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding hills, valleys lush countryside.
- Take a leisurely stroll through the Ajloun Forest Reserve, home to diverse flora. Settle into your charming Cabin in Ajloun for the night. Savor a delicious dinner and unwind under the starry night sky, soaking in the tranquillity of the region.
Day 2
Ajloun – Umm Qais – Amman
- After a hearty breakfast, depart for the ancient city of Gadara, now known as Umm Qais. Perched on a hilltop, Umm Qais offers stunning views of the Sea of Galilee and the Golan Heights. Explore the impressive ruins, the basilica, and the ancient streets. Delve into the history of this fascinating site and enjoy the picturesque scenery.
- Indulge in a delightful lunch with a local family.
- In the late afternoon, head back to Amman where your driver will drop you off at your hotel in Amman. A bittersweet goodbye as we cherish the memories of this memorable two-day getaway.
