Itinerary
- The tour starts at 9 am in winter time and at 10 am in summer time. You have also the possibility to arrive in the evening and start the tour the next day after your breakfast.
- Your adventure begins in Wadi Rum Village, where you'll meet your Bedouin guide and set off by 4x4 into the heart of the desert to Jabal Umm ad Dami, Jordan’s highest peak.
- When you arrive at the mountain’s base, the real journey begins. Standing at 1,854 meters above sea level, Jabal Umm ad Dami offers an unforgettable hiking experience. The round trip to the summit and back takes around three to four hours, depending on your pace but every step rewards you with sweeping views and a sense of awe. At the summit, you'll be standing on top of Jordan, with Wadi Rum’s dramatic red cliffs to the north and the endless Saudi Arabian desert stretching to the south.
- After descending, your guide will lead you to a quiet spot in the desert to relax and recharge. He’ll prepare a fresh, fire cooked meal right there in the open, served with refreshing traditional Bedouin tea. With nothing but silence and desert beauty around you, this is the perfect moment to unwind or take a short wander and explore the surroundings.
- In the afternoon, the journey continues deeper into the desert. You'll hop back in the 4x4 to explore some of the most stunning and remote corners of the Wide Desert in Wadi Rum, places where time seems to stand still and the landscape feels almost otherworldly. As the sun begins to dip, you'll be taken to a perfect sunset spot, where the desert glows in gold, orange, and crimson.
- As evening falls, you'll arrive at your camp for the night. The team will show you to your cozy tent, and soon you'll gather around the fire for a magical evening under the stars. A traditional Zarb dinner, slow-cooked underground in true Bedouin style, will be served rich in flavor and rooted in tradition.
- Alternatively, choose the unforgettable experience of wild camping under the stars. Your guide will take you to a secluded spot in the open desert, where he’ll set up camp and start preparing a traditional dinner over the fire. We provide everything you need for a comfortable night in the wild, mattresses, sleeping bags, blankets, and the warmth of a glowing fire.
After breakfast, you can either be dropped off at Wadi Rum Village, or choose to add an extra night and activity by planning the rest of your trip with us.
